Hello! Let us introduce ourselves 😊

We are SKAC Palma (Croatian abbreviation of Student Catholic Center) and we started this campaign to buy a new van. We need it to conduct the activities and programs that our association organizes for young people in Croatia. At this moment the market price of a new van is 70,000.00 €. Our goal is to raise 50,000.00 € in this campaign and apply on tender for the rest of the amount.

For more than 20 years, the association SKAC Palma has been changing the lives of young people.  Through spiritual and educational programs, creative workshops, volunteering, and relationship building we enable them personal growth.

SKAC is also the founder of the first and the longest-running youth program in Croatia – Modrave. This summer we are pitching Modrave tents for the 20^th year in a row. More than 7 600 young people so far spent the summer with God on this beautiful and wild peninsula and 1 100 of them were volunteers!

By being in a natural environment, in good company, without noise and alcohol, but instead working, playing sports, and attending educational and spiritual activities, young people shape up, learn new skills, recognize their talents, and develop their spiritual identity.

We will do our best to raise the amount of EUR 50,000.00 from May 8, 2023 to August 15, 2023. We hope that you will recognize our need and support us with donations.

Why do we need the van?

Our existing van, known as Sivko, is a part of our team since 2016 and it has crossed more than 260 000 kilometers so far. For the past 7 years it transported numerous volunteers, tons of equipment, water, and food – basically everything we ever need for our activities. It grew old with us, and now we need a new, reliable, and safe vehicle. Its real name is Volkswagen Caravelle 2.0 TDI and it became so close and precious to us that we want to buy the same type of van.

The truth is that our van is old and has passed a huge number of kilometers, but we also need a new van because the number of our programs, experiments and volunteer actions is rising. The needs of young people in Croatia are big and we want to help them to get closer to God.

What we do – in numbers!

• Only in the last year we have organized 151 volunteer actions.
• 114 young volunteers participate in our activities regularly and 598 of them participate occasionally.
• 2 850 young people from Croatia participated in our programs in 2022.
• We collaborate with more than 150 institutions and organizations – volunteers from our Volunteering center spend more than 21 000 volunteering hours per year to help them.
• Throughout the project 72 Hours without Compromise every year in October we enrich our country with good and green deeds. In 2022 the project was held in 19 cities, municipalities and islands and only in Zagreb 567 volunteers worked on 78 different actions (which can be social, ecological or simply working actions).

SKAC programs and activities stimulate young people to grow and act, it encourages them to excellence, ingenuity, love for others, and being concrete.

Meet the crew behind this campaign

Tihana Grgić

I am Tihana, and besides being a daughter, sister, and friend, I can proudly say that I am a SKAC Palma volunteer. I am an active member in several projects, like Modrave, 72 Hours without Compromise and the SKAC Media team. I participated in the preparation and promotion of the international Jesuit program “Magis Europe 2022” and later in the preparation of communication and media content for the promotion of the film “Sentir y gustar – kušaj i guštaj”. For the last few months, I have been working on the preparation of communication content for this campaign.

Father Mislav Skelin

I am Mislav Skelin, a Jesuit. I’m a promoter of spiritual vocations in the Croatian Province of the Society of Jesus and a priest in SKAC Palma and Magis. Every summer, for years, I try to help and encourage young people to participate in summer programs and it makes me happy to see that they meet God at these programs. Very often they get a new perspective on reality and everyday life. From friendships and relationships that form there, various beautiful and good things bear fruit even years later.

Jelena Gašpar

My name is Jelena, I am a communication specialist. After eight years of professional experience in the private sector, St. Joseph led me to SKAC. Alongside the preparation and implementation of this crowdfunding campaign, I work on the development of relations with our benefactors and alumni. And I am extremely happy when I cook for the volunteers and participants in our programs.

Mihaela Šarec

Hi everyone, I’m Mihaela Šarec from Zagreb. I am a student at the Faculty of Teacher Education and a participant in the SKAC 3D formation, which helped me grow in all aspects of my life. At SKAC, I was amazed by ingenuity, one of the values ​​whose importance I became aware of through the creation of content and visual messages for this fundraise campaign.

Marija Šimunić

My name is Marija, and I came to SKAC three years ago when I became a participant in the 3D formation program. Since then, I have been actively participating in various projects and events organized by SKAC. I would like to highlight the 72 Hours without Compromise where I was a member of the promotion team and the volunteering action leader. In this crowdfunding campaign, I am part of the team designing and creating communication content.

What if we raise more money than our goal was?

If you surprise us with your generosity and we raise more money than our goal was, we will use it to cover maintenance costs (vehicle insurance, regular service, technical services, etc.) and fuel cost for our volunteering activities. Thank you very much for your support!

Agar pembayaran berhasil, Anda harus:
